The directors of Attijariwafa bank, in Morocco, who have completed its Challenger’s Advanced Management Development Program have their diplomas registered in blockchain by SmartDegrees, thanks to the agreement signed by both entities.
The directors of Attijariwafa bank can manage their training certificates from their smartphone, through a free app that allows them the following benefits:
- It facilitates the enhancement of skills and abilities, speeding up their sharing with work platforms, recruiters, social networks and third parties.
- The director is the sovereign owner of his data and decides how, where and when to show it.
- The app and the supporting technology, blockchain, guarantee its inviolability and prevent fraud.
These are the first professional certificates in internal company training in Morocco, registered in a scalable blockchain network, using the Verifiable Credentials standard, adopted worldwide and developed by the European Commission, to promote the interoperability of certifications between institutions. It uses the distributed ledger technology of Web 3.0, blockchain, whose innovative nature allows the decentralization of certifications, avoiding intermediaries, previously necessary. As a result, enormous possibilities are opened up for qualified managers, the bank and other participants in the ecosystem.
The agreement will also allow the extension of the certification of titles in blockchain to other training courses, to other countries in Africa where the bank has a presence, as well as to other areas that Attijariwafa bank considers. In particular, it highlights the opportunity to use digital identity for its employees, through the EUDI Wallet developed in the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure initiative.
With this certification, Attijariwafa bank joins the community of universities and institutions in Morocco, whose degrees are recorded, according to this standard, on a mature and scalable blockchain network, using smart contracts and the Quorum platform, based on Ethereum.
Attijariwafa bank is the largest bank in Morocco and a benchmark in Africa and Europe, present in multiple countries.
