CESA Sup group in Morocco will certify its degrees on the Web 3.0

10 July, 2024

The Centre d’Enseignement des Sciences Appliquées (CESA) and SmartDegrees have signed a collaboration agreement to register academic degrees on the blockchain, to extend it to other educational institutions in Morocco and to achieve interoperability with the educational sector in other countries.

The agreement will allow students to manage the authenticity of their diplomas from their smartphones, through a free application that will make it easier for them to share the degree data with employment platforms, recruiters and third parties, guaranteeing the inviolability and authenticity of the degree, as it is registered on the blockchain, benefiting from the innovation that Web 3.0 represents.

Advantages of certifying degrees: agility, convenience and security

The agreement will also make it possible to extend the certification of degrees on blockchain to other educational institutions in Morocco and to enhance their interoperability with universities in other countries, by using the Verifiable Credentials standard of the European Commission and the EUDI Wallet digital identity of its European Blockchain Services Infrastructure initiative.

With this certification, CESA joins the community of universities and institutions in Morocco, whose degrees are recorded, in accordance with this standard, on a mature and scalable blockchain network, by using smart contracts and the Quorum platform, based on Ethereum.

This certification makes it easier for students to gain value in the labor market and prevents any falsification, thanks to blockchain technology.
